Noam Shapiro graduated from Yale University with a double-major in History & Theater Studies, earning Latin Honors and distinction in both majors. Between 2011 and 2015, Noam spent four years as a Recruitment Coordinator at Yale's Office of Undergraduate Admissions, where he advised prospective students on the college application and essay writing process. As Yale’s Head Recruitment Coordinator from 2013-2014, Noam oversaw Yale’s legendary admitted student days (Bulldog Days), recruited four classes of EA and RD admits, and read hundreds of successful application essays. His advice for college applicants was featured in MarketWatch: "How to get into an Ivy League school — by someone who got into 6 of them."
Before attending Yale, Noam attended the Bronx High School of Science where he graduated as salutatorian and was featured in the New York Daily News for his acceptance into 6 Ivy League Schools, a record number for NYC high school students that year. At Bronx Science, Noam also served as Captain of the Speech Team, President of the School's ARISTA National Honor Society chapter, and senior docent of Bronx Science’s Holocaust Museum.
Noam’s college essay students have been admitted to many of the country's top colleges, including Yale, Princeton, the University of Pennsylvania, Dartmouth, Columbia, Cornell, MIT, Northwestern, Tufts, Duke, Johns Hopkins, New York University, Washington University in St. Louis, the University of Michigan Honors Program, Colgate, Hamilton, Tulane, Northeastern, The New School, the University of Virginia, the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and Southern Methodist University.
Noam has tutored students at Stuyvesant, The Bronx High School of Science, Horace Mann, the Ethical Culture Fieldston School, the Riverdale Country School, the Collegiate School, the Trinity School, Columbia Grammar & Preparatory School, Beacon High School, Scarsdale High School, the Browning School, Eleanor Roosevelt High School, the Hewitt School, Friends Seminary, The Academy for Mathematics, Science & Engineering, Ramaz. He has also worked with college students at Yale University, Johns Hopkins University, Columbia University, Northwestern University, and Skidmore College. Noam has tutored students from across the country and globe, including in California, Ohio, Illinois, Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, New Jersey, Ireland, Russia, India, Taiwan, and Costa Rica.
In addition to teaching, Noam is a freelance theater director focusing on socially engaged work and the Producing Artistic Director of Three Hares.
